Onetone is OneTone Telecom, Inc., a West Union, South Carolina company that once ran Oconee County's fiber network but no longer sells home internet. It took over operation of the county's FOCUS fiber network on January 19, 2017, deployed fiber and wireless broadband across Oconee County and grew to more than 2,300 customers.
OneTone says grants of more than nine million dollars in 2020 led to a sale of the network and its customers to a local electric cooperative, and it now works as a broadband construction and splicing contractor. In June 2021 local radio reported that Oconee County approved Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative's subsidiary Upcountry Fiber to take over the network lease.
Upcountry Fiber's site, checked September 23, 2026, describes a Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative and WCFIBER partnership offering symmetrical fiber up to 1 Gbps in five South Carolina counties, including Oconee; that is provider-reported coverage, not an address check.
