Spectrum Mobile is Charter Communications' cell phone service, sold under the Spectrum brand, and it is not a home internet service. Charter offers it only to customers who subscribe to Spectrum Internet, so the home internet plans sit on the Spectrum page. Per Charter's 2025 annual report, phones on Spectrum Mobile use the customer's home Wi-Fi, Charter's network of 49 million out-of-home Wi-Fi access points and Verizon's 4G and 5G cellular network for nationwide coverage.
Each line needs a standard rate plan, Unlimited or By the Gig, and Charter reported about 11.8 million mobile lines at the end of 2025. Because Spectrum Internet is required, Spectrum Mobile's eligible area follows Spectrum's footprint, which Charter puts at more than 70 million homes and businesses in 45 states as of June 30, 2026; that is provider-reported coverage, not an address check.
Customers with both services, a DOCSIS 3.1 modem and an Advanced WiFi router can use Speed Boost. Charter names AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile as its national mobile competitors.
