gFiber Webpass is the building-based internet service of gFiber, formerly Google Fiber, for apartments, condos and smaller homes, and webpass.net now redirects to gfiber.com.
Webpass, Inc. started in 2003, and Google Fiber completed its purchase in October 2016, describing it then as linking buildings by point-to-point wireless with a data jack in each unit. gFiber's current page names no access technology, but Google's FCC filings as of December 31, 2025 show only fixed wireless in Florida, Illinois and Washington, where Webpass is gFiber's only service. gFiber lists Webpass in seven metros, Oakland, San Diego, San Francisco, Denver, Miami, Chicago and Seattle, with eligibility checked by building or address; that is provider-reported coverage.
Its San Francisco page, checked September 24, 2026, offers a 1 Gig plan with symmetrical speeds up to 1,000 Mbps, no data caps, no annual contract, a mesh-ready router and free installation. In March 2026 gFiber and Stonepeak announced a deal to combine gFiber with Astound Broadband, expected to close in the fourth quarter.
