Cox vs Verizon: which services am I comparing now?
One on the Cox side and two on the Verizon side. Cox internet is now sold as Spectrum Internet, under Spectrum's pricing and packaging. Spectrum Internet® is powered by fiber and connected to the premises by coaxial lines. Verizon sells Fios, a fiber-optic service, and 5G Home Internet, fixed wireless on Verizon's 5G Ultra Wideband network. Verizon says Fios is only available in the mid-Atlantic and New England; that is provider-reported coverage, not an address check. So ask Verizon which of the two it would sell at your address: a Fios quote is a fiber line against Spectrum Internet, and a 5G Home Internet quote is a wireless service against a wired one.
Is Verizon or Cox internet better?
We hold no reliability or speed-test records for either, so this page does not name a winner; compare the published terms and the quotes for your address. Verizon says its home internet plans have no annual contracts and include the router rental, and it lists its Fios tiers with no data caps. Charter says former Cox markets now get Spectrum's packaging with no data caps, and Spectrum says every plan includes a modem. Then compare the connection.
